Our Faith is Healing

Why is our faith an important factor for healing?

OUR GRIEVING PROCESS

First, our faith helps us in our grieving process when we have lost loved ones. Having lost many family and friends on my journey, I had to have faith that my loved ones went to a better place when they passed away. Knowing our God, and that He was merciful and compassionate, made my grieving process easier.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

(Matthew 5:4 – The Holy Bible NIV)

The Holy Scriptures comforted me and showed me that I had family members in heaven and on earth. We might see the word ‘blessed’ and ‘mourn’ as being contradictory to one another, but our faith tells us they are complementary to each other. The blessing comes in when we see that lives are changed in our grieving process. We become more compassionate to those who grieve. Many turn to God for comfort during those times, experiencing His supernatural strength in their grieving process.

OUR MIRACULOUS HEALING

Second, our faith enables us to rise above our circumstances. Having personally been a witness to this in my own life, I truly can say God still performs miraculous healing today. Doctors cannot understand how cancer patients can recover from a diagnosis of no hope and be completely healed. This also applies to mental and physical healing from other ailments. These miracles of healing are what enhances one’s faith.

Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the LORD.

(Psalm 31:24)

OUR BELIEF SYSTEM

Third, our belief system allows not to worry. We need not worry about our fate when we have faith. When we believe in God, we believe that His Word is the truth:

“Your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him”.

(Matthew 6:8)

Worry and anxiety are common causes of health problems. We give in to stress that can cause underlining illnesses. Knowing that God is our provider lessens these moments when we are tempted to give in to fear instead of faith.

As I finished this last sentence our electricity went out. I feared I had lost this article in the process, not having saved it on my computer. Then I prayed for God to help me retrieve it. I thought of the last Scripture verse I wrote:

“Your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask him.” (Matt. 6:8).

God’s Word is the truth, for my article was still there when I turned my computer back on and I am able to share this with you. This is my belief system and why faith is healing for my soul. I hope I have increased your faith and belief system in sharing this article with you.
