Avocado is rich in magnesium that reduces risk of excess belly fat, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high blood sugar.

Some of you might not know that you can also blend an avocado pit in your smoothie. It is packed with very good nutrients. It has the life force. It is very high Qi food! It’s also the highest in soluble fiber. This soluble fiber binds to the fat and excess cholesterol. Then we can lower cholesterol and improve heart function naturally. We can improve the blood circulation by pulling out all the fatty deposits in our circulatory system with the soluble fiber of the avocado seed. Soluble fiber is very difficult to get in our diet. Oatmeal has some, but it cannot compare with the avocado seed. Any heart disease patient must eat the avocado including the seed.

I never heard of eating/drinking avocado pits – how would you do it? I don’t know that my blender would be able to handle that job.

when you first start using pits, only use less than half of it and work up to the whole pit. cut the pit with a sharp knife so it breaks in small pieces — or at least it’s in half.

Okay, I’m confused. You write an article about using the avacado pit, and go on to add all kinds of recipies, but you don’t tell how to use the pit? What’s up with that? I wouldn’t know what to do with a big pit that probably kill my blender!

      Hi Audrey.

Yes, to blend an avocado you need a powerful blender like Vitamix.
      Check out the video below

Below is another recipe that takes away that bitterness of an avocado pit

1/2 or whole avocado (with pit)
      1 or 2 bananas
1/2 to 3/4 cup raw peanuts
      2 squares dark chocolate
      almond/rice/hemp milk
      ice

      Hope that helps.

This avocado pear you mentioned in the recipes it it the same one we have in the Caribbean that has green outer soft pulp and yellow inner soft pulp with one large seed. If it is the same one I didn’t know the seed could be eaten. I was always taught that it was poisonous.

The Pear Avocado Smoothie recipe uses two separate fruits – the common pear and avocado. The avocado pit isn’t poisonous but you absolutely must have a high power blender like the Vitamix or Blendtec to use the seed in a smoothie.

Avocado pits are generally considered toxic. I personally would not consume an avocado pit, nor skin nor leaves. But I think it is an interesting way to experiment on people. By the way, any part of the avocado is poison to many animals – do don’t give this to you pets.

      >Avocado pits are generally considered toxic.I personally would not consume an avocado pit<

I personally would, and do, every day. They are very nutritious, containing high levels of antioxidants and fiber, especially insoluble fiber (more than oatmeal). In the article referenced below the avocado pit was found to contain over 70% of the antioxidant activity and polyphenolic content. Since the pulp weights several times as much as the pit this means that the pit is over ten times as nutritious in these two important respects.

The avocado pit is not as hard as it seems. I put it in a pretty ordinary blender and the pit broke easily. If you only want to use only half of the pit, you need to CUT THE AVOCADO AND THE PIT AT ONCE, the pit is too slippery to cut by itself.

All the recipes before can use half a pit or it may be a little too bitter or a little too much fiber at once.

I personally would do fruit juices or smoothies with the pit and eat the avocado flesh separately, As gacamole, in a salad, or just spread “as is” on a slice of bread as appetizer.

A good idea is also to mix some of the pit crumbs with gacamole. It stays fresh and green!

    Soak

Hi, besides, Avocado is rich in magnesium that reduces risk of excess belly fat, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high blood sugar.
Do you know that avocado is one of the foods useful for treating inflammation in our body? It is a fact that avocados are high in fat; however, they contain heart healthy monounsaturated fats providing anti-inflammatory and antioxidant protection.
