Thanks for the podcast Shawn! Very informative. I was surprised to hear that grains are not good for us. Do you specifically mean wheat? What do you suggest eating to substitute for whole grains? How about quinoa?
Hi Elaine, thank you so much for your appreciation. Wheat is definitely the #1 culprit, which is why we are all seeing so many gluten “allergies” and “sensitivities”. At this point, it’s the most domesticated and furthest plant from its original genome that humans are commonly consuming (next to corn). The other grains that have more of an original genetic, thing like amaranth, quinoa, etc are not too far from wheat in their inflammatory reaction in the body… It was TOUGH for me to accept this, but consistently when I get my clients off of all grains, their symptoms improve dramatically.
The best substitute for grains is a change in mindset in how we actually see a meal (which is HEAVY programmed since childhood). We don’t need the traditional fillers anymore… Simply add in more vegetables. The best transition foods in this department are cauliflower rice (pulsing steamed cauliflower in a food processor) or yams, or if it’s a breakfast-type meal, making granola with superfoods like goji, hemp seeds, cacao nibs, hunza raisins, plus nuts and seeds like pumpkin, sunflower, and walnut.
Fascinated by some of the scientific key facts, i found the anionic orbit of lemons to stir lymph spectacular to learn. It makes so much sense. I took about 2 pages of notes during this podcast of Shawn’s. The grains was news to me, and i had the same quinoa thoughts. I don’t eat lemons nearly enough, mainly because non-organic lemons really turn me off, which is a good thing. I use what i can get. Recently i learned that fruits for energy is great, but they ferment if you don’t move around to use it up. The thyroiditis autoimmune makes tons of sense too, and now i know the power of the mushrooms in balancing not just the immune but the thyroid as well. that’s why people around me lose weight with reishi when combined with other things like bee pollen and such. without the mushroom, their results slow way down(because thyroid prolly) so that makes sense too. there was a point in this talking about the hypothalymus that went too fast, i couldn’t hear it all and clearly and write enough notes, so i will try to hear it again and catch it next time. some of this was new info to me and some not new, but i took notes on new stuff to help me research it more and remember it, like phycocyanins for stem cell reproduction, and the anionic orbit, and so on. and the hard and heavy instead of the nibbling. and again avoiding grains. well i just have to take the time to listen to this whole thing again. lots of vital info here. thanks for sharing it.

i only weight 105 lbs. (5.1′) I have lost over 25 lbs in the last year, but my belly fat is almost the same. , so I am tiny with a big belly 🙁 abs do not seems to work, please help!
Hi Yosi. This could be a number of different things. I’d really need to get more background on how you went about getting your weight loss. What diet and exercise tactics did you take? If you post up a brief synopsis of what you did to get where you are, and can take it from there to provide you with some help.

wow, there is hope in the world of nutrition. I am 19 years old and an athlete trying to hammer my nutrition down and maintain a long healthy lifestyle. I recently came upon “The Primal Blueprint” by Mark Sisson and it appears you advocate in the side of such a lifestyle habit like Mark does. I really believe the human default metabolism is lower carb, and hope primal works for me. It is void of grains and legumes so it should be interesting, sugar is the hardest thing to give up for me though. Anyway, I appreciate what you do, between you and this guy Sean Croxton of Underground Wellness you are my two favorite health enthusiasts.
