How to Raise Your Vibration: A Beginner’s Guide

how to raise your vibration

Here are the most effective techniques, gleaned from personal experience, for raising your vibration. This post from Skillcode encapsulates the techniques that will certainly help you in your spiritual journey.

The New Age movement has definitely adapted to the idea of everything being of vibrational frequency, and while it takes time to prove it to yourself through the means of actively using different types of raising your vibration techniques, there is no better way to approach your spiritual journey than to keep yourself charged up in higher frequencies.

In my journey, the best example I could give about switching my vibration from bad to good, was back when I was still enslaved by my drug usage. Being a drug addict held me in a vibration that kept me surrounded by people and situations where drugs were the number one priority, and this kept going on throughout my addiction for a long time.

After it ended, and I started to invest my time into a spiritual lifestyle, my vibration changed and the type of situations I began attracting also changed, and ever since then it has been going further up, and up.

Raising your vibration is definitely not a small task, especially when you’re just starting out with the process, it can seem like forever before you start to notice any significant changes, it’s the basis upon which techniques such as positive affirmations are built upon.

The following ways of raising your vibration are more or less my own personal experiences.

Meditation (duh!)

With so many new meditation practitioners out there, the opinion of what meditationis and does is growing each and every day. All of us experience meditation in a unique way, we see it helping us in different areas of our lives, but we all can agree on the fact that it does have a calming and relaxing effect on us as beings, and our lives as a whole. And to be in the presence of that calm is to naturally rise our vibration.

I see meditation as a way of becoming the more authentic version of Self that I am. It helps me to clear the path for creativity, curiosity and keen interest in what hides behind the curtains of life.

“When you find yourself in a situation where you don’t want to meditate, remember that it’s the best time to meditate at all. It’s when we start to become weary of our practice, that we get to face our deepest shadow aspects of our conditioned being. A life driven by the desire of the Ego is permanent, the pain to eliminate the Ego is not.” — Alex Ivanovs

My meditation techniques are as simple as they get, and I have shared some very easy to follow meditation techniques in a past post I wrote. The more harder we make something, the more difficult it is to see the actual end results of it.

Love yourself

It took me over 20 years to get to the point where I felt comfortable with opening my heart to the World to see, honestly, it’s such a life-altering experience that you won’t be able to miss it, unless of course — you choose to keep your heart closed. And even then, if you choose to live with an open heart, you are the one in charge of the choice of who you feel comfortable to be open with. Another big part of loving yourself is the ability to know when to say no and when to say yes — for the most of those 20 years, I only knew how to say yes.

I kept saying yes because I didn’t know how to love myself, and how to appreciate myself as an individual. The yes was an easy answer to escape the brutality of life, just a belief that had stuck with me for overspending time with people who were not for my highest good. I’m sure you have been through this at some point in your life, and if not — you might one day find yourself looking back, at all those silly yes’s that you made.

To keep it truthful, I did not read a book or attend a seminar that taught me how to love myself, I took the initiative of realizing that my current (at the time) life situation was not working for me, and something had to be done about it. After that came re-location, re-organization, and the practice of saying no to others, and saying yes to myself.

Exercise regularly

When you exercise, your body releases chemicals called endorphins. These endorphins interact with the receptors in your brain that reduce your perception of pain. Endorphins also trigger a positive feeling in the body, similar to that of morphine. Read the rest…

My choice of exercise is running, yoga, and hiking. All in all, very lightweight type of exercises, compared to that of pumping iron at the gym. Whatever it is, as long as we’re mindful of it, we will be fine. For me, just like learning to love yourself, exercise has become an essential part of my life only in the recent few years.

Whenever I go a long period without any exercise, I find myself:

  • Unmotivated, cynical towards life and its choices.
  • Lazy, the Ego loves a body that doesn’t exercise. It’s easier to convince it to stay in the bed.
  • Low in energy. Exercise boosts your energy levels significantly.

as you can imagine, it’s the exact opposite for each of those points whenever I do exercise on regular basis. Challenge yourself as well. Whenever you find yourself doing something that’s not for your highest good (like binge watching a TV series when you could be spending time out in the sunshine) — make it a habit to do 20 pushups or more. I have found it to be incredibly helpful in my own life, and I’m sure you will in yours.

Gratitude journal

One of the first things that I began to do ever since starting my spiritual journey, was write a daily gratitude journal; recording 10-20 things that I am truly grateful for having, having experienced, and being able to experience. A gratitude journal is a safe place for us to keep the things we’re most grateful for.

These days (unlike a few years ago), there’s no shortage of information out there aboutthe effects and benefits of writing a daily gratitude list. If you’re technology oriented, there are plenty of apps to substitute a real diary, but if you’re loyal to the traditional ways — sites like Etsy provide a ton of meaningful gratitude notebooks as your starting point.

It’s very unfortunate if you feel like you’ve got nothing to be grateful and thankful for, so in that case — the guys at Real Simple have put together an inspirational list of 100 things to be grateful for, which I think is a great starting point for anyone who wants to appreciate their lives (and the “things” they have) more. Thanks to mother Earth for being there for all of us.

Live with intention

Matt Kahn is one of the most prominent teachers of Love on this planet right now. Anyone who is closely tied with the development of their own ascension, will either have seen Matt’s work before, or have heard of him at some level. We’re seeing a lot of energetic activity on Earth right now, and Matt has taken this year to dedicate a lot of teachings to that, one of these teachings is all about living with pure intention. I highly recommend to watch the following teaching, if only for the heartfelt laughter.

The teaching explains and goes in-depth about the spiritual benefits of living your life with intention; a widely known aspect of higher vibrational frequencies amongst the spiritual communities. Whether it is going for a walk, going to the shop to get some groceries, or spending time with your family — we can always intend for these activities to be of the highest good for us and our evolution. It’s that simple.

For those who wish to explore the science behind living with intention, there’s a book called “The Intention Experiment: Use Your Thoughts to Change the World” by Lynne McTaggart, which I have started reading myself, and also recommend for explorers to enjoy. Lynne frequently shares intention experiments on her social media channels.

Bless everything

We’re going to come back to Matt Kahn on this one, since he has also shared a teaching about the art of blessing everything in our sight; something that we may perhaps have picked up somewhere else along our journeys. We are the masters of this Universe, whether we fully believe that or not. Our spoken words of may you be blessed carry a much higher vibration that we would like to explore, and is an amazing practice to take part with in your daily life.

Whether it’s food, your neighbors, a book you’re reading — you can bless it at any time, and reap the rewards for maintaining a more loving and accepting vibration. May you be blessed!

Spiritual workshops

An explorer of the spiritual path might find it interesting and joyful to attend spiritual workshops, as my personal experience has proven many times over, attending workshops that discuss spiritual matters is a great way to raise your vibrational frequency, and sometimes your consciousness/awareness as well. All depends on where you’re currently at in your journey.

What exactly is a spiritual workshop? Well, usually it’s either an individual or a couple, discussing their passion in life in a way that can help you to become a better version of yourself. Some examples include: workshops about shamanism and how we can use it in our daily lives, workshops about loving ourselves more and how to increase our love capacity, perhaps a workshop from someone like Lorna Byrne — a highly acclaimed medium for angelic guidance.

Facebook is a good place to start to find events in your area that relate to these types of themes, especially good if you haven’t been able to find a good and reliable teacher yet.

Sound healing/bath

I’m adding this as an individual way of raising your frequencies because I had such an amazing experience with this myself that I feel that anyone who has access to a sound healing bath; should definitely get it done, sooner rather than later.

Late last year, I had the pleasure of attending an event hosted by Tim Wheater and Cherub — two wonderful souls who work as sound therapists, helping us awaken our divine frequencies within. It was a group of 60+ people in a tightly sealed event room, partaking a sound healing journey that lasted for two hours if not more.

The results were quite astonishing, and I could feel the energies received from that particular session for several weeks, it really was quite surreal, and I hope to book another session at first chance that I get. As with many of these workshop/therapy things, it’s not always that we get to have twenty-four-seven access to them, but if we can — it’s nice to find ourselves in that sacred divine space.

Spiritual therapies

You probably noticed already, but the last few paragraphs have been highly spiritual in nature, and the following is not an exception. I was first introduced to a hands-on spiritual therapy late 2014, when one of my dear mentors helped me to overcome some deeply disturbing emotional pain that I was holding on to. It made me realize how powerful these energy tools can be, and it made me interested in acquiring these skills myself, so that I can one day help others in the same way, long after I have helped myself first.

Out of the most popular spiritual therapies that I have come across and have heard about across the World, these three are definitely the ones that have stood out the most:

  • Spiritual Response Therapy (SRT) — SRT can get to the very root of the problem. Using special charts and a pendulum, your practitioner finds the patterns of negative energy, whether in past, present or future lives and, through Higher Self, removes or “clears” this energy from your Akashic Records, releases pain and restores harmony. [1]
  • Theta Healing — The ThetaHealing technique is a meditation technique and spiritual philosophy – not specific to one religion but accepting them all – with the purpose of getting closer to the Creator. It is a training method for your mind, body and spirit that allows you to clear limiting beliefs and live life with positive thoughts, developing virtues in all that we do. Through meditation and prayer, the ThetaHealing Technique creates a positive lifestyle. [2]
  • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) — Emotional Freedom Techniques, or EFT (often known as Tapping or EFT Tapping), is a universal healing tool that can provide impressive results for physical, emotional, and performance issues. EFT operates on the premise that no matter what part of your life needs improvement, there are unresolved emotional issues in the way. [3]

it shouldn’t be too much of an issue to find a therapist who is specialized in either of these techniques around your area, since all of them are truly mainstream in the spiritual healing community as a whole. Needless to say, learning one of these on your own can have (and will have) life altering results.

The most important thing to know is that these therapies solely focus on releasing blockages and emotional pain that is holding you back from stepping into a much higher frequency, one that you recognize as your own. I have been heavily involved with releasing some of my own beliefs, and wrote a post about belief systems and how to clear them.

Connect with nature

I have been blessed enough to have the opportunity to live a five minute walk away from the beach. It has been an amazing few months living here, and the sea has helped to raise my vibrations in the most magical and wondrous of ways. Sometimes I would feel really frustrated, and I would go for a stroll on the beach, and to my surprise — the sea would reflect exactly what I was feeling; roaring and pushing the waves higher and higher. Other times, I would feel the most amazing peace within my being, and the sea would reflect that as well — having backed off from the shore, creating the most amazing and calm sea experience possible. It’s just one way to look at how nature is interconnected with our true being, and how it can helps us to stay more vibrationally aligned that we allow ourselves to be.

Every week I try to make it out to the forest, if only for a few hours at a time. It’s probably my most favorite time of the week as well, since it lets me to forget about city life, and allows me to connect with the spirit of the forest, allowing it to nourish me with natural energies and feelings from the trees, plants and animals who live in the forest. We only have to allow ourselves the experience, that is all that is required from us. Every week, I come out of the forest with a big smile on my face, knowing that my vibrations have risen once again, and that I have made a deeper connection with the mother Earth once again.

It doesn’t have to be the sea or the forest either, anything that takes us out of the environment of isolation between the walls of our home or office is good enough to be considered the nature, and for the better part of my life — one of the most reliable remedies for stress relief have been taking a simple walk around the block. It always does the trick.

Healthy diet

I have been a vegetarian for exactly a year since the time of writing and publishing this post, and it has certainly been one of the best decisions I have made for myself throughout my whole life. I’m 23 now, so it’s not that bad at all.

vegetables-300x218The main reason for the switch was definitely the idea of protecting animals and feeling more compassoionate towards the animal kingdom as a whole, this feeling embarked on me in a truly natural way, and going vegetarian felt like the highest choice I could make for myself, and so I did. I don’t regret it at all.

Changing my food habits to a more healthy plant and fruit oriented diet has led me to learn about nutrition, how it affects our body, and most importantly — about all the amazing foods out there that I would have otherwise missed out on. However, I’m not going to sugarcoat it either. It can sometimes be difficult to deal with cravings, the urges to opt for easier to cook foods, munchies and the like.

For me personally, the most important thing is to eat healthy, to eat as little meat as possible, and to feel good about the food that I consume. There is no question that changing my diet has helped to raise my vibration. I have gone from consuming a few glasses of water per day, to consuming on average 3 liters of water every single day. It has had a transformational effect on my being both inside and out. Drink lots of clean water, it tasted so good!

Cut out media

To me, news is just another way of being involved with some sort of drama. Anything important worth knowing is going to find me one way or the other, but you won’t see me looking for it specifically. Television ceased to exist for me when I was only around twelve years old. I didn’t find it interesting then, and certainly don’t find it interesting now. As an adult, the issue seems to be the amount of distraction that television provides, but then again — distraction is always present everywhere. It might be the lack of intelligent programs available.

The same goes for reading flashy news sites who are completely biased, bought and run by tyrants who are being paid to create a front-page that causes agony, despair and hatred towards everything and anything. It has been the tipping point between being sucked into garbage, and having freedom of choice of what I want to read, study and learn more about.

Don’t get me wrong either, I love watching good shows such as Game of Thrones, or Breaking Bad. But when I do, I make sure that I watch that thing solely, at a time most convenient for me; without feeling like I have to continue binge watching something else, because it feels like it is feeding me with temporary emotional satisfaction.

Media has evolved to be built around dramatic events, built up hype, and generally about capturing the attention of readers for the sake of generating advertising revenue. Leaving all this out of your life is going to allow you to express your vibrational frequencies more freely.

Things that feel good

Looking back at what we have learned and observed in this piece, the overall theme is to do the things that make you feel good, that awaken the joy and laughter within you so that you can see the life for what it really is. Anger, pain and other similar emotions is like a curtain that we keep in front of us, blocking ourselves from the spectacular view of all that life can be. The lesson here is to do the things that make you feel good, do the things that you feel most drawn to, and your vibration will increase naturally.

I’m going to end this post by leaving it open to more additions in the future. I’m sure as I continue to grow myself, I will come across other more interesting ways of raising our vibrational frequencies. You will be the first to know about it. Thanks for taking the time to explore my personal experiences.
